Goodbye Holman Stadium Poem

One Last Night In The Friday Night Lights

T'was the week of senior night
Every mom and dad scurry throughout the light
Tears fill their eyes as they begin to prepare
Nobody ever told them to beware

Cheerleaders create their boards
Showing all the spirit we have stored
Seeing that it's gone so fast
Trying to relive in our past

All the seniors come together for one last time
It feels like such a crime
All the years that we've had
Never were they all that bad

We have now started to grow up
We're no longer little pups
We share these memories
Wishing they would have lasted centuries

From when we were little and shy
To now the time where we all must say bye
From our uniforms that were very nappy
To the ones that now look quite snappy

We have shared all the drama
Never did we cause too much trauma
Overcoming our slight fights
Because neither of us were ever right

We have learned so much
Some that others wouldn't touch
We've grown to be best friends
Ever since we learned to do back bends

Our performances have been killer
And all the games were a thriller
The stadium has been my home
Somewhat like a little dome

The players gave it their all
Every night was a ball
The sidelines always full of glory
Giving us all a great story

The bulldog fans are the best
More cheerful than the rest
Their support gave us strength
For the entire length

Students fill the stands with motivation
Then they give a standing ovation
Cheering with their hearts
As senior night starts

The seniors have plenty to remember
From all their evenings in September
They clasp hands with the team
As we all walk down the track with steam

Our family came to visit
They could never in a million years miss it
They give their family a few hugs
The parents wish they could pull the plugs

We do our favorite things first
Before we all have to dispurse
The smiles, cheers, and dances
Taking advantage of all of our chances

We say our thank you's
Knowing we wont lose
4 years lodged into our cranium
Goodbye Holman Stadium
